I started writing professionally sometime after the first space
launch but before personal computers became all the rage.
I used yellow legal pads and felt tip pens to write as an intern,
and the City of Glendora.
With the goal of spending time with our three young girls, in the early 1990s, I started
my own freelance writing and public relations consultation service, which I called Bowling Write. My clients included newspapers, magazines, corporations, non-profits and small businesses.
I have also taught writing to fourth through eighth graders and served as yearbook advisor and newspaper publisher for several student publications. I took a day job in March, 2007 as project manager in the marketing & communications department of St. Bernardine Medical Center.
But, I was at work in San Bernardino when the Slide Fire broke out. Rushing up the mountain to retrieve our teenagers before sheriffs closed the 330, I realized that I wanted to figure out a way to work closer to home.
